The first mini challenge for the Love for Books Readathon is hosted by Adriana at She’s Got Books On Her Mind. The challenge is to create a poem about a book charachter that you love or love to hate. I chose to create a poem about Jacky Faber from the Bloody Jack series by L.A. Meyer. She is a strong female character who makes a ridiculous amount of mistakes and she is one of my favorites.
Jacky is an orphan girl from London.
Aboard the ship The Dolphin, she was discovered.
Called Bloody Jack because she killed a pirate.
Kept from being killed for being a girl by being sent to a school in Boston.
Young love abounds with one James Fletcher.
Fearful of being hung, Jacky flees from the British army.
Against all odds she becomes the owner of Faber Shipping Worldwide.
But fate keeps her and James apart
Even on their wedding day.
Running away is always her thing.
