Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s topic is Top Ten Book Related Problems (can be serious or fun).

  1. Storage. My dad built me a bookshelf when I went to college and at that time I had just enough space that all of my books fit on it. I didn’t buy any new books while I was at college because I just didn’t have time to read but since I graduated last May I have accumulated so many new books that I think I have enough to fill another bookshelf. I just don’t have room for another bookshelf so books are just sitting everywhere in my apartment.
  2. My TBR Pile. I currently have 762 books on my TBR pile and I  have a serious problem with finding new books I want to read. I have put myself on a book buying ban for the time being since I have no room for new books but my Kindle has so many books on it because I will still get the free books off Amazon. Which leads me to…
  3. Deciding What To Read Next. With my TBR pile being so large, it’s extremely hard to decide what to read next. I sometimes will read 3 or 4 books at a time but I should just read them one at a time cause it would probably be more efficient. I’m constantly changing my mind about what I want to read next though.
  4. The Library. I literally cannot leave the library without at least 4 new books to read. I typically try to find books that are already on my TBR so I don’t have to worry about adding to that already massive list but sometimes books will catch my eye that I’ve never even heard of. Which can be a problem since normally they are part of a series so then I have another 2 or 3 books to add to my TBR.
  5. Book Series. It seems like everything these days is part of a series. Which is fine because I hate getting invested in characters for only one book. I almost always want more. But then I have to wait for the next book to come out if it hasn’t already, and I’m likely to forget some of the things that happened so I have to reread the entire series each time a new book comes out because who has the patience to wait until the entire series is out.
  6. Movie Covers. While I enjoy books being made into movies, I hate when they put the movie covers on the books. I like to imagine the characters as written and it’s hard to do that when the movie cover is on there and it makes me imagine the characters as those people. UGH!
  7. Real Boys Are Not Book Boys. The boys in books give me high expectations for my love life or maybe it’s just that I’m really picky. Either way real boys just don’t add up to book boys.
  8. Losing My Bookmarks. I know at one time I had a dozen or so bookmarks. I have no idea what has happened to them through the years but I no longer possess any bookmarks. So I find my self using random bits of paper as my bookmark which would be fine and all but sometimes the only thing I can find to use as a bookmark is super thin. Thus making it hard to find where my “bookmark” is. I really just need to crochet me one so I will take better care of it.
  9. Too Many ARCs. I just joined Netgalley a month ago and I already have 42 books on my shelf. I guess I didn’t realize how many I would be approved for and just requested a bunch of them but now I don’t have enough time to read all of them. I’m just reading them when I can but that pretty much means either a). I don’t read them all or b). I read them all but don’t read any of the other books on my TBR until they are done. Either way I probably won’t get to read a lot of the books I want to for awhile.
  10. Book Club Envy. I really want to join a book club. However, I have not been able to find an active book club in my area yet. Maybe I’m just not looking hard enough…
