Michelle’s love for writing blossomed when her father gave her a diary. However, instead of recounting her daily life, she wrote stories of fictional people. Like most of her characters, she believes in Happily Ever After. Naturally, she finds harmony in writing romance.

An unabashed, self-proclaimed foodie, Michelle loves to try new food whenever she travels. She once had triple creme Brie and duck rillette for lunch on top of Grouse Mountain. She enjoys watching foreign films and reading a good book by the fireside.

Review
This was such a great book. I couldn’t put it down. Harley was by far my favorite character. She is an eight-year-old who has had to deal with a lot of crap from her parents, mainly her mother. She also has a heart condition that causes her to collapse if she gets too stressed out. Her mother, Fiona, definitely brings the most stress to her life and does more harm than good.

Jax finally decided that he should be a real dad to Harley.  He is able to get full custody of her since Fiona decided she doesn’t want Harley unless she can use her to get to Jax. Because of Harley’s heart condition, Jax decides to hire a bodyguard specifically for Harley. This is where Cade comes in.

From the beginning, Cade was a great influence on Harley. It was awesome to see Harley come out of her shell and feel like she could finally trust someone. Harley considered Cade a friend and was planning a way to get her to be with Jax. The chemistry between Jax and Cade was instantaneous but Cade refused to give in to it since she worked for Jax. I was rooting for them to be together the entire time.

I really enjoyed how Jax and Harley’s relationship grew as the book went on. It was wonderful to know that Jax really did love Harley and thought she was the best thing to happen to him. I’m a sucker for dads who love their kids and this did not disappoint.
