G is for Goals #atozchallenge

Goal setting is something that I think is extremely important. It is always good to have something to work for. I set both long term and short term goals for myself and the blog.

Long Term Goals

Long term goals include things you want to accomplish in 5 to 10 years or so. They can also include the big, outrageous things that you think you may never even be able to do. If you have something to work towards then you are more likely to accomplish the things you want and live your life to the fullest. Some of my long term goals include losing 100 pounds, paying off my student loans, and saving up to buy a house.

Short Term Goals

Short term goals are the goals you plan to accomplish in the next month, the next quarter, or the next year. It’s also good to break your long term goals down into several short term goals so that you can actively strive to reach your goal. For example, my long term goal is to lose a 100 pounds. I’ve broken that down and my goal for each month right now is to lose 5 pounds. This might seem like it is going to take forever to reach my long term goal but I’m constantly working towards it.

Occasionally I like to sit down when I have 30-45 min to just think and write down everything I want to accomplish no matter the time frame or how ridiculous it may be. It’s a good way to get everything on paper and then narrow it down to exactly what I want to work on.
