It only takes one night-one moment, one small snippet of time-to change everything. At sixteen-years-old, Sebastian Baxter taught me that. He taught me a lot of things. He never had to work for my heart. In some unexplainable way I think it had always belonged to him anyway. We spent years loving each other, hurting each other, trying to forget each other, but no matter how hard I tried, I could never erase the memory of him. His eyes, his smile, his touch-these are all things that are embedded in my brain, tattooed on my skin, and etched into my heart. Some might think our love story is over, but deep down I know it's only just beginning. Because it's not about where the night begins, it's about where it ends...

Review

Where the Night Ends shows that it only takes one night for everything to change. Tessa is about to start her junior year of high school. Her douche of an ex cheated on her and let everyone know she was a prude. She was feeling down on her luck when she ends up on a balcony with the guy she’s had a crush on since freshman year. Sebastian is a player in more ways than one. He’s the star quarterback and has girls falling all over him all the time. He is instantly intrigued by Tess since she doesn’t do that. After a night spent talking and getting to know each other, both of them decide they want more. As the years go by they end up breaking up and have several chances to get back together but the timing isn’t right. Neither quits thinking of the other though so eventually things have got to work out right?

I loved this book so much! Like all of Melissa Toppen’s work, this story will give you a roller coaster ride of emotions. You get all the angst and drama that comes with a high school relationship as well as all the stuff that comes after. I laughed, cried, and was heartbroken at times. I became super invested in the characters and didn’t want this book to end. I would love to know more of their story!

As with previous books I have read by Ms Toppen, the entire cast of characters was intriguing and I would love to know more about them as well. Tess’s mom and friends added so much to this story and I loved them just as much as Tess and Sebastian.
