Sometimes loving enough means letting go…

Major league baseball player, Ryan Walker, takes a mandatory leave of absence to escape the paparazzi and the false drug charges against him. All he wants is a little peace of mind out in the middle of nowhere.

Eager to rid herself of the empty socialite life, Frankie Vaughn moves to a rundown home in Minnesota that she inherited from her aunt. But Frankie is shocked at what she discovers inside: three young boys. When Ryan discovers that Frankie, his new neighbor, has taken on the three homeless kids as her own, he has a new hope for humanity.

Despite how easily and lovingly Ryan takes to Frankie and the boys, his past just might be the reason Frankie can’t adopt the boys. Now, Ryan must choose between loving them or letting them go. Can he walk away from what he’s been looking for all along?

According to Japanese legend, folding a thousand paper cranes will grant you healing.

Evelyn Abel will fold two thousand if it will bring Luc back to her.

Luc Argent has always been intimately acquainted with death. After a car crash got him a second chance at life—via someone else’s transplanted heart—he tried to embrace it. He truly did. But he always knew death could be right around the corner again.

And now it is.

Sick of hospitals and tired of transplants, Luc is ready to let his failing heart give out, ready to give up. A road trip to Oregon—where death with dignity is legal—is his answer. But along for the ride is his best friend, Evelyn.

And she’s not giving up so easily.

A thousand miles, a handful of roadside attractions, and one life-altering kiss later, Evelyn’s fallen, and Luc’s heart is full. But is it enough to save him? Evelyn’s betting her heart, her life, that it can be.

Right down to the thousandth paper crane.

Other Breakable Things is a very emotional read. Make sure you have tissues on hand before reading this book. You will need them.

Luc had a heart transplant and now his body is slowly rejecting it. When he meets Evelyn after 3 years apart, he decides not to tell her about his situation. He decides he doesn’t want to have another transplant and takes off on a road-trip with Evelyn. Their relationship grows into something more than friendship but they have a deadline approaching in the form of Luc’s illness.

The first part of the story was a little slow but once things picked up, I didn’t want to put this book down. I was a little mad that Luc didn’t tell Evelyn about his condition at first but I understand why he kept it to himself. I got extremely emotional while reading this book and it is one of the best young adult books I have read in a while. I would highly recommend this book.

Pages: 450
Format: eBook

It’s not always about how we fall- it’s about where we end up once we land.
I remember the very first time I laid eyes on Cole Lincoln. It still feels like yesterday when he stumbled into my life with his messy brown hair and dark eyes. Even though I was only ten years old at the time, I knew right then and there that he was going to change everything.
From that point on Cole and I were always together—inseparable—and I naively believed we’d be best friends forever. But forever didn’t last nearly as long as I expected.
We grew up and grew apart, life driving the distance between us, but my love for Cole never faltered. Even long after he moved away, leaving me and our little town behind, I still carried a piece of him with me every single day. Because Cole wasn’t just my childhood best friend- the boy who knew me better than anyone else in the whole world. He was also my first love- a part of my very core.
When a tragic death brings us face to face again after six years, every single memory comes rushing to the surface. Only this is not the boy I fell in love with all those years ago. The man before me is hardened, intimidating, and so damn sexy I practically melt when those dark eyes meet mine for the first time in six years.
And like the first time he walked into my life, I know with complete certainty that everything is about to change.
How We Fall is a STANDALONE Contemporary Romance.

Melanie has been down on her luck lately. She has lost her mom, her best friend left, and now she’s lost a childhood friend. Her best friend, Cole, is the boy she loved before she even knew what love was. He’s back in town and has changed so much but Melanie can still catch glimpses of the boy she knew. Sparks fly between the two.
I don’t want to give anything away so I’m not going to say any more about the story itself. Melissa Toppen has outdone herself with this book. It’s full of emotion and will sear your soul. I would highly recommend this book to anyone wanting a refreshing, second chance romance. It is phenomenal and you will not want to put it down.

(Thrust, #2)
Publication date: March 20th 2017
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance

I’m not your boyfriend. I’m not the guy next door. I don’t even play nice.

My hands twisting in your hair, my whispered demand in your ear—I’m the fantasy you’ll wish you never had.

When I’m through with you, every inch of your body will know where I’ve been. You won’t crave more, you’ll beg for it. Because I’m not just the cocky smile with military hardened muscles you paid five grand for—I’m the experience you’ll never forget.

One night with me and you’ll know exactly why women pay me to be rough.

Goodreads / Amazon / Barnes & Noble / iBooks / Kobo

Rough is the second book in the Thrust series. If you are new to this series, it features former Marines who are using no-strings attached sex to work through their PTSD. They just happen to be paid for their services.

Jared is a former Marine who works as a male escort. He’s sexy as sin and likes to be in control. Sienna is using the escort service to get over her ex and she is expecting to meet Jared when she goes for her second meet up. They had a rough first meeting but undeniable chemistry. The more they pull away from each other, the more the attraction grows.

I really enjoyed this story. When I first read the synopsis, I knew it was going to be good but I didn’t realize I was going to love it so much! The characters are fantastic and the execution of the story is phenomenal. I look forward to reading more of this author’s work.

Author Bio:

Sybil Bartel grew up in Northern California with her head in a book and her feet in the sand. She dreamt of becoming a painter but the heady scent of libraries with their shelves full of books drew her into the world of storytelling. She loves the New Adult genre, but any story about a love so desperately wrong and impossibly beautiful makes her swoon.

Sybil now resides in Southern Florida and while she doesn’t get to read as much as she likes, she still buries her toes in the sand. If she isn’t writing or fighting to contain the banana plantation in her backyard, you can find her spending time with her handsomely tattooed husband, her brilliantly practical son and a mischievous miniature boxer…

But Seriously?

Here are ten things you probably really want to know about Sybil.

She grew up a faculty brat. She can swear like a sailor. She loves men in uniform. She hates being told what to do. She can do your taxes (but don’t ask). The Bird Market in Hong Kong freaks her out. Her favorite word is desperate…or dirty, or both—she can’t decide. She has a thing for muscle cars. But never reply on her for driving directions, ever. And she has a new book boyfriend every week—don’t tell her husband.

Two lonely hearts.

She’s strong-willed and spunky, but she’s left picking up the pieces from her ex’s lies and manipulations, and daydreaming about taking a scalpel to his scrotum.
Flying under the radar is what he does best.
He’s laid-back and loyal, but he wants the most off-limits woman in his world, and nothing will ever make that a reality.
An arrangement of mutual benefit.

Five, if things go well.
Five at the most.
But possibly six.
Definitely no more than six dates.
Only the appearance of a romantic relationship is required, and they expect nothing more from their time together. There will be none of those
benefits involved.
One wild weekend.
After waking up in bed together—very naked and even more hungover—the terms and conditions of their arrangement no longer apply. Now they’re faced with something riskier than exposing their fake relationship:  letting go of the past and zipping up the future.
Some things have to fall apart before they can be put back together.

Kate Canterbary doesn’t have it all figured out, but this is what she knows for sure: spicy-ass salsa and tequila solve most problems, living on the ocean–Pacific or Atlantic–is the closest place to perfection, and writing smart, smutty stories is a better than any amount of chocolate. She started out reporting for an indie arts and entertainment newspaper back when people still read newspapers, and she has been writing and surreptitiously interviewing people—be careful sitting down next to her on an airplane—ever since. Kate lives on the water in New England with Mr. Canterbary and the Little Baby Canterbary, and when she isn’t writing sexy architects, she’s scheduling her days around the region’s best food trucks.

Walk of Shame by Lauren Layne #ReleaseBlitz #Review

The City’s HOTTEST Cold War is here!

WALK OF SHAME by Lauren Layne

a Love Unexpectedly novel

Releasing April 18th, 2017

Sparks fly between a misunderstood New York socialite and a cynical divorce lawyer in this lively standalone rom-com from the USA Today bestselling author of Blurred Lines and Love Story.

Pampered heiress Georgianna Watkins has a party-girl image to maintain, but all the shopping and clubbing is starting to feel a little bit hollow—and a whole lot lonely. Though Georgie would never admit it, the highlights of her week are the mornings when she comes home at the same time as her uptight, workaholic neighbor is leaving to hit the gym and put in a long day at the office. Teasing him is the most fun Georgie’s had in years—and the fuel for all her naughtiest daydreams.

Celebrity divorce attorney Andrew Mulroney doesn’t have much time for women, especially spoiled tabloid princesses who spend more time on Page Six than at an actual job. Although Georgie’s drop-dead gorgeous, she’s also everything Andrew resents: the type of girl who inherited her penthouse instead of earning it. But after Andrew caps one of their predawn sparring sessions with a surprise kiss—a kiss that’s caught on camera—all of Manhattan is gossiping about whether they’re a real couple. And nobody’s more surprised than Andrew to find that the

answer just might be yes.

Lauren Layne is such a good author that I always look forward to each of her new books. Walk of Shame is one of the best enemies-to-lovers books I have had the pleasure of reading. I really enjoyed the banter and the chemistry between the characters. I love some good snark and there was plenty of it in this book. I liked both of these characters so much and I’m super glad I got to enjoy their story. The slow burn of tension between them was so intriguing and it kept you wanting to know more about their story and to not put the book down. If you have never read anything by Lauren Layne, what are you waiting for?

N is for Netflix #atozchallenge

I watch Netflix when I’m home relaxing. We don’t have cable so it’s the only tv we watch. My daughter loves Sofia the First and luckily the first two seasons are on netflix. I think I pretty much have every episode memorized!

I am currently watching 13 Reasons Why. It is such a good show so far and it’s definitely one I’d recommend watching.

Some of the shows we have watched recently include The Walking Dead, Into the Badlands, and NCIS. I like being able to watch an entire series at one time and not waiting for them to air. Although I am obsessed with Grey’s Anatomy and waiting for the new season drop on Netflix is a killer!

What are some of your favorite shows/movies on Netflix?

The first book in an all-new m/m romance trilogy by RITA Award-winning author Alexis Hall!

Rules are made to be broken . . .

If England had yearbooks, I’d probably be “Arden St. Ives: Man Least Likely to Set the World on Fire.” So far, I haven’t. I’ve no idea what I’m doing at Oxford, no idea what I’m going to do next and, until a week ago, I had no idea who Caspian Hart was. Turns out, he’s brilliant, beautiful . . . oh yeah, and a billionaire.

It’s impossible not to be captivated by someone like that. But Caspian Hart makes his own rules. And he has a lot of them. About when I can be with him. What I can do with him. And when he’ll be through with me.

I’m good at doing what I’m told in the bedroom. The rest of the time, not so much. And now that Caspian’s shown me glimpses of the man behind the billionaire I know it’s him I want. Not his wealth, not his status. Him. Except that might be the one thing he doesn’t have the power to give me.

I really enjoyed this book! Ardent is hilarious and I love his bubbly personality. This felt a lot like a m/m version of 50 Shades but the writing is so much better as well as the story itself. I do wish we got to know more about Caspian since he is still such a mystery. I look forward to reading Book 2 in this series!

Alexis Hall was born in the early 1980s and still thinks the twenty-first century is the future. To this day, he feels cheated that he lived through a fin de siècle but inexplicably failed to drink a single glass of absinthe, dance with a single courtesan, or stay in a single garret.

He did the Oxbridge thing sometime in the 2000s and failed to learn anything of substance. He has had many jobs, including ice cream maker, fortune-teller, lab technician, and professional gambler. He was fired from most of them.

He can neither cook nor sing, but he can handle a seventeenth-century smallsword, punts from the proper end, and knows how to hot-wire a car.

He lives in southeast England, with no cats and no children, and fully intends to keep it that way.
