Reckless by Lex Martin #ReleaseBlitz #Review

Title: Reckless
Author: Lex Martin
Genre: Adult Contemporary Romance
 Release Date: February 20, 2018
For the record, I’m not going to hook up with my boss.
I’m a lot of things—a screwup, a basket case, a flunky. But when I take a nanny job to be near my pregnant sister, I swear to myself I’ll walk the straight and narrow, which means I cannot fall for my insanely hot boss.
I don’t want to be tempted by that rugged rancher. By his chiseled muscles or southern charm or the way he snuggles his kids at bedtime. Ethan Carter won’t get the key to my heart, no matter how much I want him.
Between us, she’s the last thing I need as I finalize my hellish divorce.
What sane man trying to rebuild his life wants a hot nanny with long, sexy hair, curves for miles, and a smart mouth? A perfectly kissable, pouty mouth that I shouldn’t notice.
My focus is on my kids and my ranch, not the insufferable siren who sleeps in the room next to mine. It doesn’t matter that she wins over my kids in a heartbeat or runs my life better than I do. Tori Duran is the one woman I can’t have and shouldn’t want, no matter how much I crave her.

It never fails when I read a Lex Martin book, that I will not be able to put it down and will literally be up all night trying to finish. Reckless is a prime example of this. I love Tori and Ethan and how they both have troubles but neither of them lets that hold them back. There is tons of angst and ignoring the attraction between them, but when you mix romance with the boss/employee relationship, things are bound to be tricky. Add in that Tori is the nanny to Ethan’s boys and they love her and that just ups the pressure for why nothing should be started between them. There is a lot going on in the story and that gives it a more realistic feel. This is a definite must read.

The Baby Maker by Lili Valente #ReleaseBlitz #Review

Title: The Baby Maker
Author: Lili Valente
Genre: Sexy Romantic Comedy/Contemporary Romance
Release Date: February 5, 2018
Some men are troublemakers or dealmakers. The men in my family? We’re baby makers.
For six generations, the women of wine country have had a saying: don’t bang a Hunter man unless you want a bun in your oven.
Yeah, well. I’ve got a saying too: no thanks. The last thing I need is baby makes three. My business is expanding and the only thing I’m interested in getting knocked up is my bottom line.
But then one night Emma Haverford makes me an offer I can’t refuse—she backs away from the land I have my eye on in exchange for a favor…
A big, fat, baby making favor…
When I hear women have gotten pregnant shaking hands with Hunter men, I know I need Dylan Hunter’s…ahem, special skills…way more than I need to expand my vineyard.
I’m ready to give my heart to a child and I’m tired of waiting for my late-to-the-party Prince Charming to make my dreams come true. So I promise Dylan—three months of hot, heavy, baby-making s-e-x and then I’m out of his hair forever.
But what if when it comes time to say good-bye, all I want to do is keep bottling up more memories with this big-hearted man?
This sexy Standalone romance will make you laugh, swoon, and blush baby-makin’ red. Heat level: A risk of getting knocked up during download. Paperback and audio versions are especially dangerous. Handle with care…

Narrated by Andi Arndt & Sebastian York
The Baby Maker has everything I’m looking for in a great book. The characters are fun, the romance is hot, and the story itself left me wanting more. I literally can never get enough of Lili Valente’s books. She creates a world in each one that I want to live in. This one is definitely no exception.
The men in Dylan’s family are known for knocking women up so when Emma decides she wants a baby more than expanding her vineyard, she knows exactly what she needs to do. It helps that Dylan is hot and wants the land she is buying. The fact they have explosive chemistry is just icing on the cake so it doesn’t take much to convince Dylan to go along with three months of baby making. I mean really what guy is going to turn down three months of no strings attached bedroom fun in exchange for knocking a girl up and not even having the responsibility that comes with that. The only problem is that the more time they spend together, the more their attraction grows.
This book was fun and hot. I loved both of these characters and Ms. Valente did an excellent job with these two. I can’t wait to see what she writes next!

Runaway Groom by Lauren Layne #BlogTour #Review

“Lauren Layne gets the red rose for this one, and fans of The Bachelor will fall in love with this thoroughly charming story.”Kate O’Keeffe, bestselling author
I Do, I Don’t – Book 2
Lauren Layne
Releasing Jan 30, 2018

For one charming playboy, getting cast on a Bachelor-esque reality TV show is the shock of a lifetime—until he finds love where he least expects it.
Gage Barrett’s reputation as a ladies’ man has been greatly exaggerated, but none of that matters after a drunken bet lands him on Jilted, a reality TV show that matches runaway grooms with wannabe brides. Now he’s stuck at a Hawaiian resort with nineteen women competing to drag him back to the altar—and one contestant who’s even more miserable than he is. Gage has no idea how feisty, independent Ellie Wright wound up in the cast, but it’s obvious she hates his guts. And if there’s one thing Gage likes, it’s a challenge. . . .
Ellie can’t believe she let her best friend talk her into exchanging her dignity for a glorified bikini contest. Still, she could use the exposure—her business is struggling—and she’ll probably be one of the first to get eliminated anyway. But Gage isn’t the shallow jerk Ellie anticipated—and he’s in no rush to send her home. As stolen kisses turn into secret trysts, she finds herself losing track of what’s real and what’s for the camera. With the wedding finale looming, this runaway groom is tempting Ellie to start believing in storybook endings.
I have been dying to read this book since I read Ready to Run and it did not disappoint. Gage is one of Hollywood’s hottest actors who of course has a playboy reputation as the runaway groom. This makes him the perfect contestant for Jilted, the bachelor-esque show that ends not in a proposal but a wedding for the one who has left multiple women at the altar. Ellie goes on the show to promote her t-shirt company but of course the rules state no advertising is allowed. She intrigues Gage who is dealing with nineteen other women who are all over him trying to win his affection. It doesn’t take long for Gage and Ellie to strike up a friendship but with all the craziness in the house and Ellie wanting nothing more than to go home, things don’t look promising for these two.
Gage and Ellie may just be my favorite couple ever. They don’t have to try hard to connect. They are naturally comfortable and the setting they are in is anything but. The other women are super catty other than maybe Paisley who I will say is my favorite supporting character. I literally couldn’t put this book down and read it in a couple of hours. It was so good and I would recommend everyone read it. If you’ve never read Lauren Layne before, this is a good one to start with.

Cold As Ice by Piper Rayne #BlogTour #Review

Cold As Ice, the first in an all-new romantic series of standalones from bestselling authors Piper Rayne is available NOW!

It may be Winter Games, but the bedroom games are about to begin…

Competing in South Korea on the world stage is hard enough.

Having to spend the entire press tour beforehand with a woman who hates me?

Karma really is a bitch.

While she’s spent the last four years loathing me, I’ve spent them ignoring the guilt that gnaws at my stomach.

All Mia Salter cares about is that I’m her brother’s ex-best friend and it’s her duty to hate me. The funny thing is, I barely noticed her back when she was trying to keep up with us on the slopes. Now, as both of us prepare to go for gold, I’m seeing her in a whole different light—and it involves a whole lotta different positions.

No one said the path to the Olympics would be easy.

I turn my attention back to Candice. “So, are we celebrating something?” I ask.

“Great idea.” Candice raises her hand to flag down the waitress.

The red-haired waitress, Natalie, stops at the edge of our table, an array of empty hot chocolate mugs on her tray. “Hey Rogue,” she says and then looks across the booth from me. “Mia.” Her eyes widen and she does a double take at the both of us.

Yeah, you got it right. Grady Kale and Mia Salter are sitting at the same table together.

“What can I get you?” she grants Candice her undivided attention.

“I need a bottle of champagne.”

“I don’t drink champagne,” I mumble.

“Me either,” Mia murmurs.

Candice’s attention moves from me to Mia and then back to Natalie. “Well, I do. Just a glass then.”

“I’ll grab that for you now.” Her hand lands on the edge of the table, pausing for a second. “Rogue, do you want anything else?”

Mia scoffs, but when my gaze shoots in her direction, she pretends to concentrate on her Bloody Mary.

“Um…yeah, Nat, can you grab me an Amstel?”

Nat’s knuckles knock the wood table. “Sure thing.”

She’s a good distance away before Mia’s gaze stops following her. She has to know Nat, she’s the owner’s daughter and one of Mia’s biggest fans.

“Surprise, surprise, another female who caters to Grady.”

Candice ignores Mia’s snide comment. “What’s up with the Rogue thing?” she asks, sipping her mix drink.

Mia snickers, twirling her celery around in her drink. “That’s what they call him because he only cares about himself.” She looks across the table, daring me to argue with her.

“How’s that?” Candice asks, a little warily.

I bet she knows for sure now that having both of us as clients is a bad idea.

“My friends started calling me that when I was younger because of the tricks I’d do. I’d try stuff no one else would dare to.” My eyes bore over at Mia, but apparently her drink is still more interesting than me because she can’t meet my gaze. “I set myself apart.”

“More like you isolated yourself. I think your nickname should be changed to Ogre.” She laughs to herself, pulling the piece of celery from her drink, smiling to herself.

“Okay, you two. I know there’s history, but we have to remain professional,” Candice says.

“Ogre, huh? I don’t think you were staring at me yesterday like I was Shrek.”

Nat comes back, placing a glass of champagne in front of Candice and a beer down in front of me. I lift the bottle to my lips as Nat slides a plate of pickles, celery, olives and a pepperoni stick in front of Mia.

“Thanks, Nat.” She grabs the pepperoni stick and chomps down on it aggressively. “I love biting down on a good piece of meat.”

Nat glances to me and then hurries off to help some other customers. I wish I could go with her.

“There wouldn’t be a problem if you kept us in our assigned corners,” I say to Candice.

“Unfortunately, that’s not a possibility. Why do you think I’m celebrating?” She lifts her champagne.

Mia’s foot falls to the floor and she lets the celery plop back down into her glass then leans forward, fixing her eyes on Candice.

I swivel in my seat, giving Candice all my attention.

“What exactly are you celebrating?” I ask.

Candice’s smokey grey eyes move between the two of us and then she plasters on the fakest smile I’ve ever witnessed, and I’ve seen many. “You were both chosen to represent the snowboarding team on a press tour. Yay!”

Mia leans back in the booth, downing the rest of her Bloody Mary. “Not going to happen.”

Once again, Mia Salter and I see eye-to-eye about something.

I am a huge fan of Piper Rayne so when I heard they were writing a new series I was stoked. Cold as Ice is a phenomenal start to this series about a group of snowboarders and their journey to the Winter Classics. It’s funny and romantic and the characters are so much fun and easy to relate to even with them being professional snowboarders.

Grady is sexy and I loved him a lot! Mia is such a strong female character and I want her to be my best friend. I loved these two together and I really enjoyed their story. As always the supporting characters were great as well and I can’t wait to read the next story in this series. I already know that I want to know as much as I can about these couples which is pretty much par for the course when it comes to Piper Rayne’s books.

When Kylie has a prized possession turn up missing followed by photos being sent to her of this, she turns to Joe for help. It doesn’t take long for one kiss to turn into two. I love the characters in this book so much! The chemistry between Kylie and Joe is hot and I loved watching them interact. Then there is Kylie’s dog, Vinnie, who was just so adorable and went everywhere with her. This book is a must read for anyone who likes romance.

"Swank's fluffy, feel-good storytelling proclaims the primacy of love as a force to which everyone should surrender-the bachelors destined to star in future installments haven't got a chance." --- Publishers Weekly (starred review) on Only You

First love is better the second time around.

Matt Osborn had no idea coaching his five-year-old nephew's soccer team would get him so much attention from the mothers-attention he doesn't want now that he's given up on love and having a family of his own. Yep, Matt's the last of his bachelor buddies, and plans on staying that way. That is, until he finds himself face-to-face with the woman who broke his heart.

Single mom Anna paused her life in England to help her father recover from an illness. She can't afford complications, and too-hot-for-his-own-good Matt Osborn-her almost former fiancé-is definitely a complication. He's a reminder of what might have been-or should have been. That irresistible pull between them isn't over. Not even close. But if she's not careful, she'll break both their hearts . . . again.

Always You is the third book in the Bachelor Brotherhood by Denise Grover Swank. It is the final book in this series and though you can technically read them as standalones, you won’t want to.

Matt is the last of his bachelor buddies and he has no plans to change that anytime soon. Little did he know that he was about to come face to face with the woman who broke his heart twelve years ago when he became the coach for his 5-year-old nephew’s soccer team. Anna is back in town to help care for her father. She signs her son up for soccer and runs into none other than Matt. She turned down his proposal all those years ago to pursue a career in international finance. She is still obligated to return overseas and her ex wants a second chance but she has always loved Matt. Will they be able to make it work now?

I absolutely love second chance romances and Denise Grover Swank does an excellent job of delivering a sweet story that is heartwarming a little humorous. I really enjoyed these characters especially the kids! I am sad to see this series come to an end but I look forward to reading more from this author in the near future.

Length: 6 hours and 42 minutes

A sexy romantic comedy standalone in the Modern Love series.

Who knew sleeping with the enemy could be this fun?

Was the one night stand a good idea?

Well, no. Probably not in retrospect.

In my defense, I had just moved back into my grandparents' house, I'd lost my dream job, and a guy on Tinder had stood me up. It was like life had suddenly stamped 'loser' on my forehead.

So when the guy behind the bar started giving me the know, the one that promised I'd be screaming his name into the wee hours of the morning? When that guy also has the perfect amount of scruff on his chiseled chin, biceps bulging out of his t-shirt, and a cocky grin you knew he'd earned in the sack...when he gives you that look, you don't bother to figure out what your six degrees of separation are. You jump on that horse and ride it!

Pun fully and completely intended. And accurate, by the way.

I fully admit to feeling sorry for myself and acting impulsively, but by the time I'd figured out who the bartender was, I was already falling for him.

I love all of Piper Rayne’s books so much and I was ecstatic when I learned they were releasing an audio version of The Bartender. I didn’t think the book could get any better but I was blown away by how much I loved listening to this book.

Molly Mermelstein brought such life to these characters and I don’t think anyone could have done it better. She truly encompassed the essence of this story and delivered it wrapped up with a nice bow on top with the emotion and voices she brought to the table.

I can’t wait to hear the rest of the Modern Love series!!

The Attraction Equation

FBI agent Max Carter lives his life by a strict set of rules—rules that don’t allow for distraction, deviation…or a relationship. But tell that to his matchmaking mama. To avoid yet another set-up, he announces he has a girlfriend. And now has to produce said girlfriend at Christmas dinner. Maybe Santa has a suitable actress in that red bag of his…

Gina Castillo is about to break her building’s iron-clad “no pets” policy to give her little brother the perfect Christmas gift—a dog. Too bad Max, the most inconveniently sexy tenant in the building, catches her red handed. Gina expects to be evicted, but instead finds herself blackmailed into playing the role of his girlfriend.

Two lies plus one dog should equal a hot mess of a holiday, but attraction and Christmas magic might just defy the rules…

The Attraction Equation is such a cute fun read. Max is super strict about rules while Gina is a rule breaker. They meet when Gina is sneaking around trying to hide a dog that breaks her building’s “no pet” policy. Max needs a pretend girlfriend to keep his family from trying to set him up so he blackmails Gina into being that girl.

I loved that these characters are complete total opposites. On the surface it doesn’t seem like they would necessarily go together but I think that’s what makes it work. Gina is fun and flighty while Max is a no nonsense FBI agent. He is super quirky and Gina accepts all of his quirks.

I really enjoyed this story and can’t wait to read more from this author!

Trouble Next Door is a fun romantic comedy that will leave you wanting more. Stefanie London has written a fantastic book and I don’t know why I haven’t read more from her already.

McKenna wants to start her own makeup business and decides that since she is giving up men she will focus on that. When a package she ordered is delivered to the wrong person, she meets her sexy neighbor, Beckett. Too bad that mix up was super embarrassing and hilarious. Beckett is essentially married to his job which costs him his fiance and her dad’s money for his startup. He makes a deal with McKenna to get his sister to hire her for her wedding in exchange for McKenna teaching him how to get his fiance back. Of course, it isn’t going to be easy.

Beckett reminds me of a few of my guy friends with his geeky ways and I loved this! I wasn’t sure if I was going to like McKenna at first but I ended up really liking her by the end. I was smiling pretty much the entire time I was reading this book and it’s been a stressful couple of months so I really needed that! I look forward to reading more from this author.
